This unit is tight, if you can DJ. Nothing replaces vinyl but this mixer really makes you save your back. By going digital, you can have more than 50 milk crates of vinyl in an external hard-drive. I carry 1- 500 GB to my gigs for now. One important thing you do need to know that Pro Sound Does not tell you, but if you go to cortex website, it states 'Not Compatible with MAC formatted iPods.' If it wasn't for a tech (Sam) at Cortex telling me that they are developing a free software for Mac formatted iPods, I would have sent this back and told PSSL to -------, for not having a disclaimer and doing false advertisement. So for now I can't use my iPod dock, so I use the external.
But I forgive them, I was the first to order it and the first to give them feedback about this.So go ahead and buy it. Save your back and trick your gig out. I still travel with my Tech.' S but only with a selected few records, when I need certain effects or to show that vinyl ain't dead.I just hope they come out with one that has 4-channels, now that would be KRAZY. • Was this review helpful?
Similar issueon this end, you must try a few steps before giving up all hope, first is to download the latest firmware to your external drive or USB, let the unit recognize it, then restart the unit after updating and it should be fine after that. If the problem persists, then I believe that you need to convert all of your music files on a PC and do not allow any of them to be compatible with a mac, because the processing system of the cortex seems to freeze when reading these kinds of files for long periods of time.if things are still dicey after you do this then i suggest you reformat your entire drive, if you think its worth getting the mixer back in action.maybe, maybe not.good luck Posted on Sep 11, 2010.
