Can we make a list of all knowned working UPS's, in a 'plug-n-play' way? I've read so many posts and I still have doubts about what are the best UPS's to use with Nas4Free. From the NUT website I think MGE/Eaton are the best compatibles, but I've tested none. What can you users tellme about this? LIST: ===================================== 1- APC BF 500 2- APC Back-UPS ES 550 3- APC Back-UPS RS 500 (via USB ) 4- APC 2200SU (Serial) 5- MGE Protection Center 500 USB ---- tested by me (for what I've read this two work). In almost all UPS that works with NAS4Free the connection is made by: In this one is: Anyone know if its supported? Regards as i can see the cabel types are both usb (left side of pictures). I dont think the right side counts at all, because it belongs to the UPS.

So it must work well with NAS4Free. Driver: usbhid-ups Port: auto. This site has been very helpful in setting up my simple raid5 NAS. We've had a few storms in my area lately causing temporary power outages.

After an outage, it usually just requires me to restart SMB, but I was at MicroCenter today and they had a 450va APC UPS on sale for $55 (BN4001) so I picked one up. I used driver version 'usbhid-ups' and set the shutdown time to 180 (3 minutes).

Since all my network gear is in the same place I also put a phone modem, HD Homerun Prime and TA adapter on the UPS (since they all get squirley after an outage). I can confirm that this device works quite well! Just for SAG, I unpugged the power cord from the UPS for 2 minutes and all the devices kept power and remained intact without any problems. Here's a link to the UPS I purchased: It's nice to know I'll be covered during brief power interruptions, plus it's pretty cool to be able to see the UPS stats from my remote rig. Just wanted to add this one to the list as Known Good. It appears this thread may be dead but I will give it a try. I noticed in the list of compatible UPSs that the CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS is listed but I was wondering about other variations of the PFC line such as the CP1350PFCLCD or the CP1500PFCLCD.
